Ms. Rosie Thomas of the Lake County Minority Health Coalition was recently honored for her many years of distinguished community service during the Lake County National Women's History Celebration. Rosie was cited for continuing to raise community awareness about diabetes and other chronic disease conditions. An article highlighting the event appeared in the Gary Info newspaper on March 27, 2009.
