Ms. Albertine Allen and the Minority Health Coalition of LaPorte were featured community partners in the 2008 Cancer Care Report released by Saint Anthony Memorial Hospital in Michigan City.

In September 2008, the coalition held its annual breast cancer walk to create a fund to pay for mammograms for uninsured/underinsured women in LaPorte County and surrounding counties. The coalition also secured matching funds from the Fannie Mae Foundation.
